Excel Tips and Tricks for Researchers

Date: Tue 23 May 2017, 10:00am–12:00pm / Places left: 12 / Price: $95.00 + GST / Format: Online

Excel serves a range of useful research purposes, yet many researchers fail to utilise its full potential. This two-hour online course is not a general introduction to Excel, but rather focuses on time-saving features of the application that will be of particular interest to both quantitative and qualitative researchers. Topics include tips and tricks for data entry, techniques for cleaning and manipulating data, pivot tables, graph creation and formatting, and using formulas. We’ll also discuss how Excel is useful for working with more than just numerical information, and demonstrate how it can be used for basic analysis of qualitative data.

Note: This course will be taught using Excel 2016 for Windows

Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions, submit comments and participate in quizzes and other exercises during the session in order to maximise learning opportunities. Exercise files will be provided and you are welcome to work with these during the webinar (this is ideal if you have two screens); alternatively we would recommend you practice using the exercise files after the session.

We use the GoToWebinar platform to deliver our online courses. You will receive an email from GoToWebinar, 3–4 days before the event date – this will contain your unique link to attend on the day.
