Analysing Qualitative Data

Date: Thu 22 Jun 2017, 10:00am–12:00pm / Places left: 9 / Price: $95.00 + GST / Format: Online

Research data collected via qualitative approaches (e.g. focus groups or interviews) can be difficult to analyse. We often have a lot of material, it may not be very uniform, and it can be unclear what to prioritise. Furthermore, knowing how to identify a “theme” or do justice to contrasting views expressed by participants is rarely as straightforward as we’d hope. This online course provides a focused introduction to qualitative data analysis, and covers the key stages in the process including coding and identifying patterns in your data. This course is interspersed with practical tips and aims to leave attendees feeling more confident in approaching this vital – but inevitably messy – stage of the research cycle.

This interactive training course will be presented by an experienced qualitative researcher, and will incorporate real-life examples of research throughout. Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions, submit comments and participate in quizzes and other exercises during the session in order to maximise learning opportunities.

We use the GoToWebinar platform to deliver our online courses. You will receive an email from GoToWebinar, 3–4 days before the event date – this will contain your unique link to attend on the day.
