NVivo for Literature Reviews

Reviewing the literature is an important part of the research process. Organising relevant papers and findings are more than just data entry or bibliographic tasks, you also need to be able to analyse and integrate this material with the qualitative data you are gathering. NVivo has excellent functionality in relation to PDF import and bibliographic software compatibility, that can be utilised for this stage of your research. This online course will provide an overview of NVivo’s functionality with regard to literature reviews. You will learn how to code literature, run queries on published material, and work with bibliographic data in conjunction with your NVivo project.

This course is suitable for researchers who are currently using NVivo for their research.
You will receive exercise files, course notes and a recording of the session.
Presented using NVivo 11 for Windows. NVivo for Mac users are welcome to attend.

By the end of this course attendees will have a good understanding of how to:

  • Work with different types of literature within NVivo
  • Create externals and memos, and the role these can play within a literature review
  • Record notes and reflections on the literature within your NVivo project
  • Classify literature, and why this might be useful when conducting a literature review
