Painting the Picture in NVivo

The saying "a picture paints a thousand words" very much applies to the visualization tools in NVivo, which can play a key role in both analysing and presenting qualitative data. Are you looking for patterns in your data? If so, Word Trees, Word Clouds and Cluster Analyses are a quick way to gain insights. Do you need to organise and think through project ideas? Try the maps feature to create Mind Maps, Project Maps and Concept Maps. If you are looking for patterns in your coding or other project items, then consider Explore Diagrams and Comparison Diagrams. This online course will discuss these different visualisation tools in NVivo and provide some practical suggestions for your next project.

This course is suitable for researchers who are currently using NVivo for their research.
You will receive exercise files, course notes and a recording of the session.
Presented using NVivo 11 for Windows – some content not applicable to NVivo for Mac.

By the end of this course attendees will have a good understanding of how to:

  • Use visualizations as a tool for analysis and presentation
  • Create and work with Mind Maps, Project Maps and Concept Maps
  • Explore projects using Explore Diagrams, Comparison Diagrams and Cluster Analysis
